A Short History About Me
Welcome to my new personal site about online marketing, business and search engines.
I started in digital marketing back in 1998 as a media planner and buyer for clients who were running ad campaigns on Yahoo, Advertising.com and other powerhouse ad networks at the time. That experience quickly led to developing site marketing strategies, search engine optimization and overall marketing plans for companies that were evolving their traditional direct response marketing to the realm of the Internet.
By 2001, I had the privilege to have developed online strategies for major media companies, toolbar & browser platforms and mobile technology products. At the time, those strategies integrated paid advertising, organic search, ambassador and outreach programs; covering most outlets of online marketing.
In 2003, after taking a hiatus from SEO and online marketing to travel the world, I launched Search Engine Journal while living in Brazil. SEJ quickly became a powerhouse in the world of SEO blogging, as it was the first purely search marketing blog to hit the market and has survived to become an influential media channel in the marketing industry.
After Search Engine Journal’s success, I started my own consultancy in 2006 to bring successful content and blogging strategies to my clients to help them with overall SEO goals and form audiences beyond email. By 2008 that consultancy became a boutique agency with a team of 5 employees. After numerous changes and adaptations of that boutique agency, I went through a series of two mergers which led to some turbulent times, but have continued to hone my craft and launched a new boutique agency in March of 2013 with my business partners Greg Boser & Dax Herrera, Foundation Digital.
